About Us
Sunny Le started his firearms career early in life. At the age of 13 he was a member of his high school JROTC Marksmanship Unit. This lead to him joining the Army Explorer Unit which led to his introduction to live firearms. He was an OpFor during this time which allowed him to merge his interest in firearms and self defense into what would become a life passion.
Sunny has been instructing privately since 2006 and in 2015 started his professional career as a firearms instructor. In late 2015, Sunny opened Eclipse Firearms and Training, a brick and mortar storefront concentrating on firearms training and sales. In 2016, Sunny became a NRA Certified Range Safety Officer, Firearms Instructor in Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun, Personal Protection Inside the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home and a CCW instructor. During this time Sunny was hired on as a Firearms Instructor for BAT Tactical and Defensive Accuracy while instructing for his own company, Eclipse Firearms and Training, as well. Sunny became an approved CCW instructor for Merced, Fresno, Madera, Mariposa and San Benito Counties. In addition, Sunny has instructed Advanced Handgun and Advanced Carbine classes, Low Light Gunfighting and Good Guy with a Gun series for Defensive Accuracy.
In 2017 Sunny started competing in local USPSA matches; shooting in the Limited, Production, Carry Optics, Open Division and currently in Limited Optics. Sunny is currently a A Ranked Shooter.
In 2019, Sunny joined the Merced County Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Officer. During his time with the Sheriff’s Office Sunny quickly gained rank and seniority with his proactive approach and willingness to work hard. With the department, Sunny was certified with the Less Lethal Shotguns and was the department's EVOC instructor. Sunny resigned from the department in 2023 to concentrate on his new family and continue to build his training business.
Recently, in 2024 Sunny became a NRA Law Enforcement Division Handgun Instructor and California P.O.S.T Handgun Instructor. He was the first to pass the intensive Tactical Hyve Instructor candidate course, becoming the Northern California Tactical Hyve Instructor.
Sunny has trained with multiple world class instructors in various discipline. Sunny trains with the mindset of being an empty tea cup waiting to be filled with knowledge, so he can pass it on to others
As an instructor, Sunny found his passion and continued his training career with drive and an open mindset. This allowed him to hone his craft and build his reputation as not only a shooter but as a firearms instructor as well. Sunny’s training style utilizes biomechanics and focuses on efficiency. He enjoys shooting fast and maintaining accuracy. Sunny specializes in shooter diagnostics and pistol mastery with an emphasis on principles before technique.
June of 2025 Sunny made the hard decision to close the store front to concentrate on sharing his passion of training with others
